The Art Gallery of Alberta presents Mind the Gap: A Think-Tank on the Culture of Youth on Saturday, March 15 from 2:00 – 4:00 pm.
This panel discussion will be moderated by Paula Simons, columnist for The Edmonton Journal, and will feature 5 guest panelists: Dr. Joanne Minaker, Professor of Sociology, MacEwan College; Wallis Kendal, ihuman Youth Advocate; Duane Linklater, First Nations Youth Worker; Page Cassidy, Youth Menace Host (on CJSR); and Josephine Cross, musician and outspoken ‘trans-grrrl’.
This public forum explores the wide-ranging effects of youth culture. Topics of discussion will include commix, gangs, drugs, consumption, girl-bullies, fashion, sex, gender, new music, video games and social networks. Members of the public are invited to participate in the discussion. This public forum will be re-broadcast online as a podcast courtesy of VUE Weekly.
